Sub Centre News

Northumbria - Contact Jen on austinhealeyclubnorthumbria@outlook.com for more details of future events and noggins.

Yorkshire - On 14th July, Doug McClymont and Jeff Hollinshead attended an E-Type 60th birthday celebration in the splendid setting of Bowcliffe Hall, Wetherby, with its reception bar full of classic motoring photographs and memorabilia.  Here, amongst the sea of Jaguars, was an Austin Healey 100S, owned by Stephen Owens.  Following interviews with Stephen Owens and John Scott Nelson about their experiences in the Mille Miglia in the 100S, the highlight of the day was Stephen started up the 100S. Healey heaven!
North Wales - 2021’s North wales Pandemic Permitted Picnic goes ahead on Saturday 7th August, location “near the Shropshire border”.  For more details or to join in, contact John or Jill on: 07766 706554.

Scotland North East - Mike Rasmussen organised the 1st meeting on Saturday 17th July at the Grampian Transport Museum, Alford, Aberdeenshire. Mike is one of the Trustees at the museum & was able to arrange a free visit for the four members who were able to attend. The group have agreed a run to a different part of NE Scotland each month with our next meeting at Tomintoul, on Saturday 28th August via the Lecht Road - to join the fun contact Mike on mikerazz@icloud.com  or mobile 07968 196888.
Lakes - Despite grim weather forecasts, Holker Hall Classic Car Show went ahead with some glorious weather. Four Northern Centre members ignored the forecast and pitched up at the Show, an early start from Wilmslow (6:30am), meant that Doug McClymont and Phil & Lesley Kershaw were amongst the earliest cars attending. Richard Craig (from Manchester) joined in, but all were outclassed by the enthusiasm of Hugh Barry who had travelled all the way from Edinburgh with his very smart Healey Blue 3000 MkI.  Thanks to the Kirby Lonsdale MC for this cracking show in the Lakes.
