Hi,
Welcome to October’s newsletter, as the nights close in, our thoughts invariably turn to keeping warm whilst working in the garage! This October, I have Goodwood Members meeting to look forward to, despite probable weather issues. This month, we’ve news from the Centres, as well as a slug of information on the AGM.

The Yorkshire Sub-Centre's visit to The Great British Car Journey, at Ambergate, attracted a crowd of 18 members, with a nice group of six Healeys adorning the front of the museum. The owner (Richard Usher) welcomed us to the event, which really is a look back in time, spotting your Dad’s or in my case my own (company) cars from the 80’s and 90’s.

The latest outing of the Aberdeenshire Noggin ’n Natter was to Scotland’s highest village - Tomintoul. We all had a blissfully sunny day as we drove up into the high Cairngorms over the famous Cockbridge to Tomintoul, Lecht ski access road, made famous by Tomintoul’s postmistress, Mrs MacKay, on the late Terry Wogan’s radio show. Mrs MacKay, you may recall, was always calling in with weather reports & the state of snow drifts on the Lecht road. We are so lucky to be able to drive these traffic free mountain roads, which we do not take for granted.
The Northern Centre AGM (Tuesday 2nd November at 8pm) takes place, this year, on the Welsh border at The Grosvenor Pulford Hotel and Spa (no expense spared!). The Hotel is just south of Chester, with excellent road links, via M56 and the Chester southerly bypass. Similar to last years AGM, we’ve organized virtual access for those members who are unable to attend in person.
For members attending in person, we will require numbers, as there will be nibbles! Similar to last year, Robert Thornburrow will be sorting the virtual access and will also need to know numbers in advance.
This year's AGM will be a little different as we have a number of members of the committee standing down and are looking for “new blood” to help run your local club. So don’t be shy (or lazy), come and get involved and enjoy yourself and remember, now we run the events both in person and virtually, where you live simply isn’t an issue. Paul will be sending more details in the next week or so.
